Mountainside is located at the base of a mountain in the foothills of the Berkshires in the north west corner of Connecticut. Our natural surroundings combined with our compassionate approach to treatment provide the perfect backdrop for healing and recovery.

We offer a serene environment with breathtaking views. Our colonial style facility affords residents the comfortable feeling of home. Our beautifully restored chapel, built in 1776, is one of the many places that offer a quiet place to reflect and meditate.

Everyday at 11:00am residents attend a meeting held in this room. The focus of the meeting is spirituality. Different speakers and tools are used to try and help each residents find and develop a spiritual component for their recovery. Mountainside is nondenominational and does not discriminate against any religions.

Adventure Based Initiatives Program

Residents have the opportunity to participate in Mountainsides ropes and challenge course as part of the Adventure Based Initiatives Program. Activities focus on group problem-solving initiatives that provide active involvement, personal and group reflection, and evaluation

For those residents who take part in Mountainsides Long-term treatment program they will have the opportunity to acquire job and life skills. As part of the program at Mountainside we have a fully functioning professionally managed restaurant. This serves as the vehicle for residents to gain job skills and get experience living in separate living quarters under the care and supervision of Mountainside Phase IV coordinators. Residents are expected to adhere to a set of guidelines focused on the next stage of recovery and work closely with their coordinator to identify and to plan the next step in their recovery and their lives.
