Most of us know someone who suffers from the life draining disease of addiction. Whether the addiction is alcohol or drugs, we have seen the destructive road addicts travel and what ultimately awaits them if nothing is done: loss of their families, relationships, careers and, most sadly, their lives. Once the addict or alcoholic reaches out for help, it is vital that help be there. Many addicts and alcoholics and their families have come to this pivotal juncture only to find inpatient treatment unavailable at an affordable rate. You and I know how necessary inpatient treatment is for most substance abusers. Yet, inpatient treatment is rapidly disappearing. The numbers of closings of private and state-run substance abuse treatment centers are increasing each year, principally because of their high cost structures and the changes taking place in managed health care, resulting in fewer and fewer reimbursements for inpatient treatment of more than five to seven days. The founders of Mountainside recognized this problem and have arrived at a solution: Mountainside's costs are low because, unlike the high-priced traditional rehabs, Mountainside does not include costly medical services. Mountainside is challenging the conventional wisdom that success rates following treatment will be no better than 5% to 15% for people staying clean and sober. We share the vision of those believers who will accept no less than 60% to 70% success rates. Our innovative program offers components such as Individual and Group Counseling; Adventure Based Initiatives; 12-Step Education and Meetings; Therapeutic Challenge; a Low-Ropes Course; Exercise and General Fitness; Addressing Nicotine Addiction; Gender-Specific Groups; Family Sessions; Relapse Prevention; Music, Art, and Writing Workshops; Meditation; Yoga; Task-Focused Assignments; and Leisure Time Activities. Our focus is on treatment for substance abuse. Our dedicated counselors have a wide variety of backgrounds and bring with them varying disciplines ranging from certification in drug and alcohol counseling, adventure-based intiatives, Yoga, outdoor wilderness and special training in the many issues facing the recovering individual and his or her family. We strive to awaken within the individual the desire not to want to use any mood-altering substance and to effect a change in lifestyle to enhance the continuing journey in the healing of: ->Click here for information on Mountainside's Admission process.
